WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

All Citizens of Mauritius, either by Birth, Descent, Adoption, Registration or Naturalization, are eligible for a Mauritius Passport, provided that they satisfy all conditions prescribed by law.

Exemption/Allowances on household and personal effects to Mauritius, granted to:
 
1. Mauritian nationals returning to Mauritius after residence abroad for a period of at least one year

2. Non-Citizens settling in Mauritius
(Occupation permit/work permit issued by the competent authority needs to be produced)

3. Any passenger who on his first arrival satisfies the Director General (MRA) that s/he is taking up permanent residence in Mauritius
